Impulse noise is different from the usual persistent mechanical noise. When generated, the sound wave will instantly spike to over 120 decibels, usually within a few milliseconds, then drops back to the original point with the same rapidity.

The ACS PRO Impulse Noise earplugs use the same filter as the basic military shooting earplugs, which provides about 15 dB of attenuation under normal conditions, giving you light protection. 

It differs from the blocking protection products on the market. Its exclusive ventilation technology dramatically reduces the occlusion effect, improves comfort, and reduces ear canal inflammation or infection.  PRO Impulse Filters have passed comprehensive environmental tests, including humidity, high and low temperatures, 12-hour comfort, and dust. It can be cleaned with water and neutral detergent and is suitable for all outdoor and indoor conditions. 

According to ANSI, the below insertion loss graph shows the insertion loss values achieved with the PRO Impulse filter when the impulse noise reaches 130, 150, 158, and 166 dB. The following graph shows the noise attenuation curve provided by the filter when there is no impulse noise.
