For many musicians, custom in-ear monitors are essential tools, combining secure fit, noise isolation, and reliable stage monitoring.

Yet each handcrafted pair is unique and represents a significant investment. From fitting and initial use to rehearsals, recording, and live performance, these four issues are among the most common challenges musicians face with traditional custom in-ear monitors.


1. The Custom Version Sounds Different from the Demo
Musicians will usually audition a universal-fit demo and proceed with a custom order only after they are satisfied with its sound. However, once the finished custom monitor is put into use, it may sound noticeably different from the demo they originally auditioned. This is because the custom earpiece is individually shaped to extend deeper into the ear canal, creating a longer acoustic path for the sound and resulting in a different presentation from the universal-fit version.

In its universal configuration, VIORA delivers a flat frequency response with faithful, uncolored monitoring performance, making it ideal for recording, arranging, and rehearsals.

Once fitted with JANUS custom sleeves, VIORA instantly becomes a fully custom in-ear monitor, combining the comfortable, secure fit of soft silicone with monitoring tuning specifically optimized for live stage performance.

2. Dual-Mode Acoustics - Custom-Fit Tuning for Stage Monitoring
Using VIORA itself as the acoustic core, ACS developed a dedicated custom-sleeve structure that minimizes the sound differences commonly introduced when a universal earphone is converted into a custom-fit configuration.

The frequency response of the VIORA + JANUS custom-sleeve mode has also been further optimized to improve vocal and instrumental clarity, maintaining a clear and controlled presentation even in high-volume environments. Output between 6 and 10 kHz is moderately reduced to lessen excessive high-frequency stimulation and the listening fatigue it can cause at elevated monitoring levels.
